Movie of the week: Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010)

This week's movie is "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief".

This was my second time watching this movie.
I remember watching it on DVD when it first came out.

"Percy Jackson & the Olympians is an American feature film series from 20th Century Fox based on the novel series of the same name written by the author Rick Riordan. The series is distributed by 20th Century Fox, produced by 1492 Pictures and currently consists of two installments. The first film, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010), was directed by Chris Columbus and was released on February 12, 2010.
The films follow the adventures of demi-god Percy Jackson and his comrades at the demi-god training ground of Camp Half-Blood. In the first film, Percy must go on a quest to save his mother from the underworld and prove his innocence when he is accused of being the lightning thief."

My thoughts: Chris Colombus was the director of the two first Harry Potter films. I consider this as the only reason to watch it. But, there's more. It's the perfect fantasy film with loads of action.
I also learned things about Greek Mythology I didn't really know (I am ashamed of it).
But, overall, I absolutely loved the film and I can't wait to watch the sequel. I am also willing to read the books!

I am giving this movie a 9.5/10.

Movie of the week: Jack The Giant Slayer (2013)

Let's pretend it's Sunday! I forgot to upload this yesterday.

This week's movie is "Jack The Giant Slayer".
I watched this one, because I was searching for information on Nicholas Hoult (last week's star of "Warm Bodies", click here to read) and I found out he was starring on this film, which I wanted to watch since it first came out.

"Jack the Giant Slayer (previously titled Jack the Giant Killer) is a 2013 American fantasy adventure film based on the English fairy tales "Jack the Giant Killer" and "Jack and the Beanstalk". The film is directed by Bryan Singer with a screenplay written by Darren Lemke, Christopher McQuarrie and Dan Studney and stars Nicholas HoultEleanor TomlinsonStanley TucciIan McShaneBill Nighy and Ewan McGregor. The film tells the story of Jack, a young farmhand who must rescue a princess from a race of giants after inadvertently opening a gateway to their world."

My thoughts: It was just another fantasy movie. I thought it was very predictable. But, the effects were really good and I loved the settings.
I recommend this movie to anyone who is into fantasy. Others may not be really into it. But, if there is going to be a part 2 of it, I am going to watch it.

I'm giving this movie an 8/10.

"Bullying is 4 losers..." by Mike Kar

My friend Mike has recently created a blog. In his first article you can read what bullying is, how it affects people, but through that he also supports equality.
It's really decent article, so I suggest all of you to read it.

Movie of the week: Warm Bodies (2013)

So this is a brand new column in the blog!
Once a week I will be presenting you a movie that I have watched during it.

This week's movie is "Warm Bodies".
"Warm Bodies is a 2013 American paranormal romantic zombie comedy film based on Isaac Marion's novel of the same name. Directed and written by Jonathan Levine, the film stars Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer and Analeigh Tipton.
The film focuses on the development of the relationship between Julie, a young woman, and "R", a zombie, and how their eventual romance develops throughout. The film is noted for displaying human characteristics in zombie characters, and for being told from a zombie's perspective."

My thoughts: This movie has gone to my favourites list. I loved everything about it. The plot went exactly the way I wanted. No sudden deaths, no extreme plot twists, just a really well written and filmed movie.
There are a lot of funny scenes. Scenes you don't really expect them to be there, especially when something serious is happening.
Overall I absolutely loved it and I'm planning to watch it again and again and again...

Oh, and a quick shout out to the very good looking zombie!

I'm giving this movie a 10/10.

Ryuk (from Death Note) Make Up Tutorial

This is my first ever attempt on creating Ryuk's face.

Some information about Ryuk as seen on the Death Note Wiki:

Ryuk (リューク, Ryūku) is a Shinigami who gives Light Yagami's Death Note to him. Ryuk was bored with the activities (or lack thereof) of the Shinigami Realm, and decided to obtain a second Death Note (by fooling the Shinigami King) and drop it in theHuman World for someone to find, hoping to amuse himself from the boredom he had endured. This Death Note is found by Light, leading to his attempt to rid the world of evil, and easing Ryuk's boredom.

Ryuk is one of my favourite characters in Death Note. He is really scary looking, but he is very funny!
Plus, he was the one to kill Light, which makes me like him even more!

And this is my take!
I also made that Death Note for the video, hope you like it! :)
I promise I won't kill anyone with it! ...or am I?

New Purchase!

My collection of the extra Harry Potter books is now complete! :D

These two lovelies arrived yesterday :)

As seen on the cover this is the "Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them" by Newt Scamander.

This is my favorite of all the books, because it has many hilarious notes from Harry and Ron!
These are my favorite:

"This book belongs to Harry Potter

shared by Ron Weasley because his fell apart

Why don't you buy a new one then?

write on your own book Hermione

you bought all these dungbombs on Saturday, you could have bought a new book instead

Dungbombs rule"

write a decent team in my book for a change Weasley"

As it seems it wasn't brief!

hahahaha... Bum :')

"My name is Gregory Goyle and I smell"
I died at the troll face :')

It is obviously an acromantula. Duh!
Also take a look at the "Harry loves Moaning Murtle" hahahah

This is "Quidditch Through The Ages" by Kennilworthy Whisp.
This is less exciting, since it has no notes. And that, because it's a book from the library, therefore students are not allowed to ruin them in any way.

On the first page we can see the students that have borrowed it. Hermione's name is of course written twice!

Purchase them here:

And just in case you like this one also

My carnival costumes! (2008-2013)

I am aware I haven't done anything for Halloween yet, as I promised, so here are some ideas for you, while waiting.
Wanna know my carnival costumes over the years?
Keep scrolling!

2008 - Apparently being an emo was really in back then. And you know what? I admit it. I wanted to be one, because of their style!
I would be the worst emo, though. Being sad and suicidal was not me. I'm happy!

2009 - Yes. I was Bill Kaulitz. I thought I did a really good job, but looking back now, it was rather bad.

I used lots of hairspray to achive the perfect spiked hair, yet it didn't work.

Oh and shout out to my friend Irene, who is in the picture!

2010 - This was the Lady GaGa phase, in which I loved everything that had to do with her.
I even went to a costume party and everyone was pleasantly surprised and got loads of compliments.

2011 - I was not really creative that year. I just bought a pirate costume and wore it.
It was a really pretty costume though.

2012 - IMMA BEE.

I loved this costume! I wanted to be dressed as a ladybug, but I liked this better.

The extreme lashes took the whole outfit on another level.
I was finally becoming creative!

2013 - It's really frustrating how ignorant people can be. I mean, how can you not understand I was Bellatrix Lestrange? My hair is messy. I wear black. I wear leather. I hold a wand. I have the "I'm going to kill your whole family" look. And for goodness' sake I have a freaking DARK MARK.
Only a couple of people realised what I was dressed as, without giving a hint.

I liked it though, and I consider it as one of the best looks I've done. It was rather accurate!
